What are body measurements from a 3D scan?
Body measurements from a 3D scan are taken by loading a real-time specialized 3D renderer with a model of you visible on it, then letting the renderer measure your body circumference at different places on your body. To get a 3D model of yourself and others you can either 3D model it from scratch (super time intensive) or get 3D scanned on a full body 3D scanner and extract measurements from that model in 15-20 minutes – no 3D modeling required!
If you want to purchase custom clothing, having a 3D model of yourself with generated body measurements can help the tailor create the perfect fit for you!

Steps required to take body measurements from a 3D scan:
- Put on a tight-fitting outfit (usually activewear)
- Find a location/event with a full body 3D scanner
- Take your 3D scan in A-pose
- Use a model measurement suite and/or a 3D model editor (or just give the model to your tailor!)
